Our Mission

At Thrive Together, we strive to support the health of children and adults around North Carolina by addressing important needs, be it health, economic, or social. By providing resources and a means for community members to seek help, we hope to create a world where people can not only live but thrive. 

Thrive Together is a community organization developed in partnership between college students at UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University. Working in tandem with other community organizations, government officials, and research professionals, we hope to create change within our state of North Carolina via various community-centered projects.

The Thrive Together Journalism Initiative is designed to provide community members with relevant and concise information about important issues. We hope to create a YouTube/media channel and publish one short video and one or two articles every month about a specific topic from nutrition to healthcare to education to housing. We hope to publish these resources in this blog and via our official channels but also in community groups and at community centers where they may be easily accessible by individuals who need them. 

So what can you take from these resources? Moving forward, we plan to include specific community organizations and/or applications you may use to reach your goals. We also plan to include the contact information for organizations or individuals you may reach out to to seek assistance. Ultimately, we hope to spotlight community organizations in your specific county, city, and district to highlight the work they are doing and how they might be able to help you in the future. In the future, we hope to produce more concrete, physical resources for you to use in your day-to-day life and we hope to use this initiative to further our relationships with community partners to ensure the resources we provide are both accessible and actionable.
